Gold IV explores the relationship between surface, depth and revelation through layered sculptural texture.

The canvas is built through delicate layers of texture, forming an arrangement of varied shapes and organic forms across a predominantly white surface. Each layer creates subtle changes in elevation, allowing light and shadow to move naturally across the work.

Beneath the white texture, gold emerges selectively through small openings and variations in the surface. Its presence is minimal, yet intensely luminous appearing unexpectedly through the layers rather than dominating them.

The contrast between the quiet white field and the powerful flashes of gold gives the work its distinctive tension. What is concealed beneath the surface becomes visible in fragments, creating a sense of depth, discovery and material transformation.
