Duality
DUALITY
Duality explores the relationship between masculine and feminine presence, love, perception and the space between what is seen and what remains unseen.
A male and female figure emerge in an entirely black composition, their forms defined through delicate, layered texture. Their eyes are deliberately concealed, creating a visual tension between presence and perception between what the figures can see and what remains beyond their sight.
The restrained sculptural layers give the silhouettes a quiet physicality, allowing subtle variations in texture and shadow to define the forms without overwhelming them.
At its centre, Duality considers love as a meeting of two distinct presences: separate yet connected, visible yet unknowable. The covered eyes become a symbol of surrender, suggesting that not everything within a relationship can or needs to be understood through sight.
Duality exists within the space between the seen and unseen, where connection can remain powerful even when certainty disappears.
