CORE I

Core I explores depth, contrast and the quiet intensity of material form.

Constructed using Vigour Noir’s signature Canvas-on-Canvas technique, an additional canvas is positioned at the centre of a black canvas, creating a layered architectural structure within the composition. The central surface is embedded with crystals, introducing a concentrated field of light against the depth of the black ground.

The relationship between the surrounding black and the crystalline centre creates a sense of inward movement—drawing the eye toward the core of the work. Light catches across the crystals, producing subtle shifts in luminosity as the viewing angle changes.

As the darker counterpart to Aureum Core, Core I translates the same conceptual language into a deeper visual register, where radiance emerges from within the black.

Core I considers the core as a place of depth, energy and concealed light.
